Description

Southern Star is a diploid seedling selected from a cross of the mother Outeniqua and father OF2/93.

South African hops are usually harvested in the late summer months, which is typically around late February into March.

Southern Star is a dual-purpose hop that can be used in all hop additions throughout the brewing process.

This hop offers clean, crisp and efficient bittering with slight berry, floral and citrus notes. Detailed aroma descriptors include pineapple, blueberries, tangerine, tropical fruit, passion fruit, quince, pear, cassis, rose petals, orange and coffee.

Some hops just taste better together. We recently analyzed [ 1 ] hundreds of the most popular beers to find which hops are commonly paired together. We found that Mosaic , Ekuanot & El Dorado hops are commonly used alongside the Southern Star hop. This is not a complete list, but should give you a good idea of what hops are commonly used together.
