Developed by the Comptoir Agricole breeding program in Alsace, France. Released to the US in 2019.
Mistral is a dual-purpose hop that can be used in all hop additions throughout the brewing process.
When it is used in the kettle, the bitterness of the Mistral hop is very clean and sweet and not harsh. It is completely unique with a character that would be impossible to replicate without blending multiple varieties. It has a melon and citrus-like character and also can have a Muscat grape or wine-like character and even a hint of pear. Ideal for late additions and dry hopping.
