The Idaho 7 hop was developed by Jackson Hop Farm in Wilder, ID. It was first released in 2015.
Idaho 7 is an aroma hop that is typically used in only late boil additions, including dry hopping.
Idaho 7 hops are known for their juicy tropical fruit and citrus flavors (think apricot, orange, red grapefruit, papaya) with big notes of resin-y pine and hints of floral and black tea. Use the Idaho 7 hop as a single hop or as a late addition. The high oil content make this ideal for dry hopping and whirlpool. Playfully known as "007: The Golden Hop"
Some hops just taste better together. We recently analyzed [ 1 ] hundreds of the most popular beers to find which hops are commonly paired together. We found that Mosaic , Citra , Chinook , Simcoe , Lotus , Centennial & Azacca hops are commonly used alongside the Idaho 7 hop. This is not a complete list, but should give you a good idea of what hops are commonly used together.
